AWS Eastern Oregon Data Center Expansion

AWS's Eastern Oregon expansion record covers multiple public data-center development signals in the Boardman, Arlington, Morrow County, Gilliam County, and Umatilla County corridor rather than a single confirmed facility. Morrow County's August 2024 agenda identifies Amazon Data Services as owner of a new data center campus application adjacent to Boardman Airport, and a CTUIR letter names the ADS Airport Road Boardman Project near Boardman. Tri-Cities Business News reported a later Morrow County approval for Amazon's PDX 154 project east of Boardman Airport, with four data-center buildings totaling about 816,000 square feet. Separately, Morrow County 2025 materials for Threemile Canyon Farms seek data-center/exascale-campus zoning west of Boardman Airport, while GeekWire and Data Center Dynamics reported that Amazon confirmed a 1,300-acre Boardman land purchase but said development plans were not final. Data Center Dynamics also reported AWS land acquisition and development interest in Arlington. Verified sources do not support the previous selected 576 MW capacity; proposed 1 GW / exascale figures are planning-context or potential-buildout signals, not selected public capacity. ADCI therefore demotes selected capacity to unknown, removes the single Boardman coordinate, and records this as a planned regional expansion record.
